India could not defeat the Windies in the last four encounters with Brathwaite’s men winning three and the fourth ending without any result. In fact, Windies ended the home team’s WT20 campaign in 2016 by defeating them in the semi-final. In the past, Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons have performed brilliantly against the Indian bowling attack but are not a part of the squad.

Virat Kohli has been a part of the playing XI in all the four matches but he will be absent when his men take field in the T20I series. The Men in Blue have failed to perform up to the mark against the big-hitting West Indians as they have a 2-5 head-to-head record in international T20s.

The last time these two teams faced off, was on 9th July 2017, where Kohli’s men set a target of 191 for the home side. Evin Lewis’s 125* (62) blew away the mighty Indian bowling attack as the world champions won the match with nine wickets in hand.
