Duminy and Miller need to shoulder more responsibility for the team

South Africa are playing the series without the services of some of their best batsmen, including Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers. But it doesn’t mean they don’t have any experienced batsmen with them. JP Duminy and David Miller are both available, but they ended up with scores of 3 and 9 respectively, both getting dismissed to poor shots. This effectively meant that they were virtually out of the game in a steep chase.

The senior batsmen need to step up to the challenge and contribute more to the team total. Duminy is capable of holding the innings together, while Miller’s hitting prowess can come in handy for the hosts. They have to put a bigger price tag on their wicket and lead the batting effort from the young side. It will be a welcome change for the youngsters around them as well to see them do well.
