Amidst all the hullabaloo of the ongoing Indian Premier Legue, the International Cricket Council has blown the bugle of the 2019 Cricket World Cup which is slated to be held in the United Kingdom.

The schedule is out and with it, the shenanigans will also start. Teams have been building their core over the past few years and in these 12-15 months, they will be much closer to what the actual line-up will look like.

There will be a few omissions and here in this article, we take a look at four players who might not make it to the Indian team's squad for the World Cup.

#4 Axar Patel

Viewed as a like-for-like replacement for Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel was considered to be a perfect fit for India's limited overs ambitions.

However, the relative ineffectiveness of the finger spinners in England back in the 2017 Champions Trophy meant that the Indian management were forced to try out Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and this punt has yielded great dividends for the team.

Hence, Axar might not make it to the Indian squad, purely because in English conditions, wrist spinners will be the preferred breed.

#3 Manish Pandey

It is an example of lost opportunity despite being given a relatively longer rope and the player has not fulfilled the potential.

After the century in Sydney back in 2015, the route looked very cosy for Manish Pandey, but the Karnataka-player has not been able to buckle down and seal his spot in the middle order owing to which he might face the axe when the squad is eventually announced.

Also, there are other batsmen who might solve the middle-order muddle and thus, the selectors will look away from Manish Pandey for the world cup.

#2 Ravindra Jadeja

The curious case of Ravindra Jadeja is perhaps the most enigmatic case in Indian cricket as of now. From making his career as a T20 specialist to being now viewed as India's premier spinner in Test matches, life has taken a complete tumble for Jadeja.

He has lost the ability to pick up wickets in ODIs and with the bat, there is no confidence either. Also, with the emergence of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, Jadeja might find it hard to break into the ODI setup.

To make matter worse for him, he has not been doing wonders in the ongoing IPL either!

#1 Yuvraj Singh

And then there is Yuvraj Singh, India's man of the series in the 2011 World Cup who is still plying his trade for the Kings XI Punjab, but such has been the lack of scores that he has been benched by his team.

Although the Indian selectors did take him to the Champions Trophy, there is little doubt that the southpaw might not find a place in the 15-man World Cup squad. His batting, while brilliant in patches, does not exude that kind of confidence and his bowling is just about afloat.

Also, in the field, he is just a pale shadow of the vibrant Yuvraj he once was.
