BBL is an Australian professional T20 cricket league established in 2011 by Cricket Australia. The ongoing 7th edition of the second most popular T20 league, after IPL, is at the half-way mark and has already shown glimpses of young talented cricketers.

The upcoming edition of the IPL is all set to be an exciting affair, with much-awaited auctions to take place in Bengaluru on January 27 and 28. The franchises will be keeping a check on the top performances in BBL and here is a list of five players who could be a part of the richest T20 league in the world.

#5 David Willey

The talented English cricketer is an integral part of Perth Scorchers and has played every game so far. He is a left-arm swing bowler capable of giving early breakthroughs with the new ball and more than a handy batsman, often utilized as a pinch hitter at the top of the order.

Looking at Sunil Narine's achievements with the bat last season for KKR, IPL franchises won't mind having a player of that mould on their side.

#4 Mitchell Swepson

Swepson got a call-up to the national side when they toured India

The young leg-spinner from Brisbane has bricked his path by relying on flat trajectory flippers with the occasional loopy delivery and has a unique ability to make flat-trajectory deliveries turn significantly.

Seeing the success of wrist spinners all around the world, Swepson was roped in by the Brisbane Heat for the BBL and has already won two 'man of the match' awards in 16 games so far.

#3 Ashton Turner

Turner scored 52 runs off 27 balls against Sydney Sixers

The tall all-rounder, who bats in the middle-order and bowls off-spin, is a member of Perth Scorchers' setup. He has already contributed in a couple of victories and was awarded the Man of the Match in the first game.

Considering his ability to take the momentum away from the opposition with his hard-hitting, Turner would play a crucial role in Scorchers' title defence.

So far, he has scored 108 runs with half of them coming in sixes only.

Batting: Inns - 38, Runs - 512, SR - 137.26

#2 Joe Burns

Burns has represented Australia at the Test level

A stylish batsman who plays straight in the V and has the patience to wait for balls in his area, Joe Burns adds a lot of value to Brisbane Heat. In the age of the T20 and stroke-play, Burns is of the rare, endangered breed of openers with an airtight, orthodox technique.

He plays the role of a senior statesman who can respond to pressure situations and maintain his composure to get the team out of trouble.

BBL Career:

Batting: Inns - 36, Runs - 856, SR - 124.78

#1 D'arcy Short

He scored 61 runs off just 27 balls in his dream debut

The Hobart Hurricanes' top order batsman came into limelight when he scored eight fours and three sixes against a potent Sydney Sixers bowling attack in the BBL debut and rose to fame.

Born in the Northern Territory, Short is a batting all-rounder, a flashy left-handed batsman, and a slow left-arm unorthodox bowler.

BBL Career:

Batting: Inns - 12, Runs - 440, SR - 162.96
