Indian bowler Sreenath Aravind had taken part in the Champions League in 2011 along with the Royal Challengers Bangalore and were against the Australian domestic team, South Australia. After winning the toss, South Australia had chosen to bat first and registered a total of 214 for the loss of just 2 wickets in their 20 overs.

Opener Daniel Harris scored a century and was well supported by Callum Ferguson in the innings. Aravind, however, did not have a good game as he went for 69 runs in his 4 overs and did not pick up a single wicket for the Challengers. Aravind had conceded 14 boundaries and a six in his bowling spell at an economy rate of 17.25 runs per over.

In reply, the Challengers chased the total set by South Australia, scoring 215 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs with Virat Kohli and Tillakaratne Dilshan playing major roles in the victory, much to the relief of Aravind.
