Over the years, a lot of cricketers have gone on to showcase their acting ability on the big screen as well.

Right from Kapil Dev to Sachin Tendulkar, a lot of Indian superstars have gone on to act in movies. However, there are a few cricketers who have had cameos in certain movies and have gone unnoticed by fans.

In this article, we take a look at five cricketers whose acting careers you might not be aware of.

Yuvraj Singh

While everyone is aware of Yograj Singh's acting ability, not many people are aware that his son has been behind the camera as well.

One of India's most decorated limited overs batsmen of all time, Yuvraj has acted in quite a few Punjabi movies as a kid along with his father.

One of the movies he had acted in was named 'Mehndi Shagna Di'

In the clip, Yuvraj was seen running a race along with a group of other children. He wins the race along with his friend as the duo held hands and crossed the finishing line.

However, when he was called to be felicitated, he was questioned as to why he did so. He replied saying that he had decided that, in life, they would win together and lose together.

Dale Steyn

One of the most fearsome bowlers around, Dale Steyn is recovering from an injury and hoping to make a comeback for the series against India which begins in January 2018.

He is one amongst the many decorated South African cricketers and has decimated opposition batsmen on many occasions.

He made his debut in Hollywood a few years ago when he acted alongside famous actor Adam Sandler in the movie "Blended"

In his cameo, he was called up by Sandler to bowl to a kid in the park. Steyn kept correcting the character who referred to bowling as pitching.

Dinesh Mongia

India's Dinesh Mongia is clean bowled by New Zeala

Dinesh Mongia was an integral part of the Indian cricket team for a few years and provided the side with useful contributions with the bat and the ball.

His claim to fame was the 159 run knock which came against Zimbabwe in the five-match ODI series back in 2002. He was also a part of India's World Cup squad of 2003 where India ended as the runners-up to Australia.

Inconsistent performances led to him being dropped from the Indian side shortly after the World Cup and he hardly featured for India since then.

He acted in a movie called Kabab Mein Haddi where he played a parody of Amitabh Bachchan. However, the movie was not well received by critics or fans.

Harbhajan Singh

Undoubtedly, one of India's best off-spinners, Harbhajan Singh was an integral part of the side in all three formats of the game for more than a decade.

He is currently a part of Punjab's Ranji Trophy squad and is hoping to make a comeback to the Indian side in either the ODI or T20 format.

Bhajji has produced some dazzling performances on the field for the Men in Blue.However, what many people don't know is that Bhajji was also a part of a Punjabi movie called "Bha ji in Problem" which was produced by Akshay Kumar.

He had a cameo in the movie which consisted of decorated Punjabi actors including famous comedian Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi.

He also had a small role to play in the famous hindi movie "Mujhse Shaadi Karoge" where he starred alongside teammates Irfan Pathan, Mohammed Kaif, Javagal Srinath, and Ashish Nehra.

MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is arguably the greatest ever Indian captain. He led India to success in all three major ICC tournaments ever since taking over the helm in 2007.

Dhoni has acted in numerous advertisements over the years and is one of the most marketable athletes in the world.

However, what many people don't know is that he was a part of a movie as well. The movie - Hook Ya Crook directed by David Dhawan had John Abrahan as its lead actor and was based on a cricketer’s life. The movie also had famous actors such as Kay Kay Menon and Genelia Dsouza.

Unfortunately, it never got released due to reasons unknown.
