5 current Australian players who were part of the tour of India in 2013

Tejas V
Wade will be hoping to score valuable runs while batting at No. 7 for Australia

#2 Steven Smith

The only player in the Aussie middle order who plays spin comfortably

Steven Smith made his Test debut in the year 2010 and was a lower-order leg-spinning all-rounder. In his first visit to India, he featured only in last two Test matches. In his first innings ever in India, he scored a brilliant 92 which included seven boundaries and a six but he could not repeat a similar knock in the next three innings.

Since 2013, Smith has enjoyed enormous success in his cricket career. He succeeded Michael Clarke as the Australian captain and over the years, he has transformed himself into one of the finest batsmen in the Australian batting unit. Smith is also great player of spin and displayed the same in the tour of Sri Lanka where he was Australia’s highest run-getter.

Extra Cover: Virat Kohli vs Steve Smith: A promising rivalry

Smith enjoyed a runs-filled Test series against Pakistan recently and also notched up a first-class hundred in the warm-up game against India A. Therefore, Australia will rely on him if they are to give any fight to the No.1 ranked side in the world.
