In the Asia XI vs Africa XI series in 2007, Asia XI won the first two matches and clinched the series with a game to spare. The third and the final ODI in Chennai was an exciting one and MS Dhoni exploded with 139 off only 97 balls, accompanied by 15 fours and 5 sixes.

He built a 218-run partnership with Jayawardene for the sixth wicket to take Asia XI to a very high total of 331. This was MS Dhoni's third ODI century. Jayawardene scored a century and finished with 107 off 106 balls.

Chasing a target of 332, Africa XI got off to a really good start, thanks to De Villiers and Sibanda. However, losing wickets in quick successions meant Africa XI had to suffer yet another loss and end the series, 0-3.
