Pakistan v India - 2011 ICC World Cup Semi-Final
In the heat of the moment, Tendulkar lashed out at Mushtaq

Sachin Tendulkar has always been considered the epitome of calmness and class on the cricket field. Over a career that lasted nearly a quarter of a century, he conducted himself with utmost dignity and grace. However, there were some rare occurrences when he saw red.

Let's take a look at some of the instances when Sachin Tendulkar lost his temper on the field.

#5 Sharjah, 1996

In a match against Pakistan at Sharjah, Tendulkar had scored a century that helped India score 305 in 50 overs. However, Pakistan fought back strongly before ultimately falling apart.

When Tendulkar took the final wicket, getting Saqlain Mushtaq out leg before and finishing off the match, he pointed towards the dressing room and directed expletives at Mushtaq before joining his teammates in celebration.

India v Pakistan
Tendulkar was visibly angry about his unfair dismissal

In 2000, in an ODI against Pakistan, Tendulkar finally snapped after a long, arduous tour during which he had been at the receiving end of plenty of questionable decisions by the Australian umpires.

Tendulkar was batting well until a delivery from Waqar Younis went between his bat and pad to the wicketkeeper Moin Khan. There was no contact, but the Pakistanis appealed vociferously and a young Simon Taufel raised his finger.

Tendulkar looked visibly angry and upset, and while he did not say anything to the umpire, it was quite apparent what he thought of the decision. He walked back to the pavilion shaking his head in anger.

#3 Gwalior, 1999

Tendulkar showed that the pressures of captaincy can get to the best of cricketers

When Tendulkar took over the captaincy of the Indian team for the second time, New Zealand's visit to India was his first high-profile series.

With the series tied at 1-1, the teams headed to Gwalior for the third ODI. India scored 261 and it looked like it would eventually win the game. However, New Zealand was not ready to hand over the match and fought back hard.

Tendulkar snapped when one of the fielders was a bit slow to react, and the captain was seen screaming with a livid expression on his face. India eventually won the game, but this was a rare show of anger from Tendulkar during his time as Indian captain.

#2 Nairobi, 2000

India v Australia
McGrath was bullied and sledged by Tendulkar

Glenn McGrath got the better of Tendulkar during India's tour to Australia in 1999-00, and that was probably at the back of the Little Master's mind when he went out to bat against Australia in the ICC KnockOut Trophy in 2000.

Tendulkar launched a murderous attack against the Australian bowlers, especially McGrath, whom he hit for three sixes.

However, that was not the end of it. McGrath appeared to have said something to Tendulkar who, to everyone's astonishment, responded with some choice swear words.

First Test : Pakistan v India
Tendulkar was shocked by Dravid's decision

During the first Test against Pakistan, stand-in captain Rahul Dravid's decision to declare the innings with Tendulkar batting at 194* made Tendulkar fly into a rage - something that he is still bitter about after all these years.

Tendulkar stated in his autobiography that he had been given a deadline within which he had to score those runs, but the declaration came before the deadline.

He did not come back out to field with the rest of the team, and this remains one of the most well-known instances of him losing his cool.
