This funny moment came in the 2nd Test of Australia's tour of India at the start of the year.

The Australians started the tour on a high after defeating India in the first Test of the series by 333 runs. In the following Test, batting first, India was all out for 189 on the first itself. In the morning session of Day 2, Indian bowlers were trying hard to pick wickets but without much success. This left Ishant Sharma frustrated. In a moment of comic desperation, he tried to mimic Steve Smith after the Australian batsman was beaten on a good length delivery bowled by him.

Soon, that 'Sharma face' became the butt of a joke and social media was flooded with trolls and memes about the same. This moment made the commentators, as well as the spectators, burst into laughter. Even the Indian captain, Virat Kohli, was having a laugh at this epic moment.

#4 David Warner handing over the shoe to Basil Thampi

This might just be one of the craziest things a cricketer has ever done in the field!

The incident took place in the match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Gujarat Lions, which was played in the 10th edition of the IPL. Put in to bat first, Gujarat Lions could score only 135 runs in the 20 overs. Chasing a low total, David Warner and Moises Henriques were batting freely without any pressure in the second innings.

In the 10th over of the 2nd innings, Henriques was batting while David Warner was on the non-striker's end. Bowler Bail Thampi bowled a length delivery which Henriques defended towards the right. Thampi dived rightwards to stop the ball but failed to stop it. Instead, his shoe popped out of his foot. Surprisingly, Warner, who was running between the wickets, stopped mid-way to hand over the fallen shoe to Thampi. He resumed the running thereafter.

His action was applauded by the audiences on and off the field.

Later, David Warner posted a picture of the moment with a witty caption.

In the 2nd T20 international against New Zealand, while chasing a target of 197, India lost both their openers very early. It all came down to Dhoni and the skipper Kohli when everyone else failed to deliver. In the 17th over of the match, New Zealand spinner, Mitchell Santner, tried to outsmart Dhoni, who had come down the crease. But Dhoni realized the trap and instantly moved his right foot back into the crease and this left him stuck in a split position.

Wicket-keeper Glenn Phillips who was looking for a stumping chance waited for a few seconds for Dhoni to fall, but Dhoni didn't lose his cool and receded back into the crease after he balanced himself. In spite of Dhoni playing a powerful knock of 49 of 37 balls, India lost the game.

However, fans were left surprised by the fitness level of Dhoni which was put to test by Santner. Needless to say, the former Indian skipper passed the test!

#2 Saha trying too hard to get the ball!

On the first day of the third Test played between India and Australia at Ranchi, amidst a tense battle between the two teams, a hilarious incident took place.

A delivery of Ravindra Jadeja took a sharp turn and got stuck between the legs of Smith. Thinking that the ball caught an edge off the Australian skipper's bat, wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha jumped on the batsman and tried to get hold of the ball. Soon, both the players fell to the ground and Saha got hold of the ball and appealed for a catch out.

The amusing scene on the ground left everyone in splits. Even umpire Ian Gould couldn't control himself and was seen laughing in the field along with other players. The appeal was later turned down as it turned out that the ball had not hit the bat.

#1 Virat Kohli sticking his tongue out

That'
That's quite a way to celebrate the fall of a wicket!

This hilarious moment came in the semi-final match of the Champions Trophy, which was played between India and Bangladesh. Bangladesh were in full flow at the start of their innings and no wicket had fallen in space of 100 runs, until Kedar Jadhav finally bowled out Tamim Iqbal.

Another quick wicket of Shakib Al Hasan pumped up the Indian team. Soon, Jadhav dismissed Mustfiqur Rahim as well. He was caught out by Kohli. His funny expression came thereafter and was a quirky sendoff for the Bangladesh wicketkeeper.

Soon, this expression became the topic of discussion on social media and the internet was flooded by hilarious memes by the end of the day. On the back of a wonderful knock played by Rohit Sharma and a supporting knock by skipper Kohli, India won the match quite comfortably and progressed to the final of the tournament.
