5 Players who can change fortunes for Delhi Daredevils this season

Delhi Daredevils (DD) have been one of the teams who have been consistently underperforming in the Indian Premier League seasons for many seasons.

This year's upcoming IPL is going to be really dramatic as most of the players are reshuffled in the latest IPL auction.

So, will Daredevils be able to prove this time around under Ricky's guidance?

#5 Gautam Gambhir

It all came where it has started 10 years back when Gautam Gambhir was picked by Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural season of IPL but he wasn't able to do much for the team.

Now after winning two seasons of IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders as a captain, he is back to his home team. It will be really exciting to see him playing as he himself wanted to play for the Delhi side and win for them.

Gambhir, one of the most experienced IPL players and the most aggressive captain, with Ricky Ponting coaching the team, will be really tough for other teams to beat this side.

He hasn't played much cricket these days but he has an ability to adapt any condition. In total, he has played 148 IPL match where he scored a phenomenal 4132 runs with an average of 31.78.

#4 Glenn Maxwell

One of the most destructive and unpredictable cricketers of the current generation, Glenn Maxwell has been bought into the Delhi team for nine crores.

He has always been a match winner for whichever team he has played for. In the recent tri-series between Australia- England- NewZealand, he was looking in very good form as his all-round skills definitely helped Australia to win the series.

He has to play a very major role with both bat & bowl if DD has to win the title.

In 57 IPL matches he played so far, he has scored 1228 runs with a strike rate of 164.39, it definitely shows how strong DD's middle order is.

#3 Colin Munro

After making his impact in international cricket with scoring three T20I centuries, the Kiwis star opener has everything to be named as a match winner.

He really starts going from the very first ball and take the game to the opposition.

He was sold for Rs.1.9 Crore and could be seen opening the batting with skipper Gambhir. He has the power to exploit any kind of bowling attack when he gets going.

In 45 T20I, he has scored 1173 runs at a strike rate of 163.59 where he scored three centuries and seven half-centuries.

He hasn't played much in IPL but it doesn't mean he will not play his natural game.

#2 Kagiso Rabada

Rabada has the skills to turn the game on its head

The young pacer from South Africa has already shown what he can do with the white ball.

He has been bought back to Delhi Daredevils with the right to match used by the owners. Rabada has been quite economical and has the skills to really turn the game with his swing and pace.

Rabada played just six matches in previous edition taking six wickets.

He had improved himself a lot since last year, so it would be interesting to see how he bowls in Indian conditions in front of world's top batsmen.

He has been Delhi Daredevils first choice when it comes to retaining of players and why not? Rishabh Pant was quite blistering in the previous edition and he really provides some power hitting to the team.

He has also been phenomenal in this year's domestic games.

While coming to his international career, he hasn't got much chances to cement a place in the Indian team he really need to perform extremely well.

In 24 matches he played in IPL, he has scored 564 runs with an average of 151.20.
