A few months back, Axar Patel was a certain part of the World Cup squad as a third spinner but with Ravindra Jadeja back in form and the new arrival of Krunal Pandya, they have given Axar a run for his money.

Both Jadeja and Krunal have been performing very well whenever they are getting a chance to prove themselves and now the fight for the third spinner in the squad has been between the two. Though there is everything done by Axar with the ball in his hand it is his batting that is lacking when put in front of the other two left-arm all-rounders.

Axar Patel is also not part of the squad that will be touring Australia later this month. Axar has to do something very special in the Indian Premier League this year to make selectors look at him as the third spinner in the squad. If he has an ordinary season, it is more or less over for him at least until the World Cup.
