Scotland v Pakistan - Second International T20 Match

The 19-year old career of Shoaib Malik commenced in 1999 at Coca-Cola Champions Trophy, Sharjah. Getting an opportunity to bat against Sri Lanka, Malik was outplayed by Sanath Jayasuriya (caught and bowled).

However, barring his debut, Malik has scored 6975 runs with 41 fifties and 9 centuries in 261 matches.

Initially, Malik was part of the Pakistan side for his spin-bowling ability. Grabbing the opportunity as a middle-order batsman, his batting performance improved and he emerged as a batting all-rounder. Since his bowling action was suspected by the international teams, Malik underwent a surgery to rectify his action.

Milestone Alert: Shoaib Malik is 25 runs short of becoming the 8th Pakistan player to score 7000 runs in ODI career.
