When India had won the third Test against England in Trent Bridge, Virat Kohli surpassed Sourav Ganguly for the most number of Test wins as captain. He is only behind the legendary captain MS Dhoni who has the tally of 27 Test wins as the captain of the Indian team.

Currently, Kohli has marshaled his team in 39 Tests out of which he has won 22 matches and lost eight while nine Tests in a draw. He needs six more wins to become the most successful Indian captain in the history of Test cricket.

Graeme Smith holds the record for most Test wins as he won 53 matches in 109 Tests. Kohli, on the other hand, has a lot to offer as a captain and needs 32 wins to become the most successful captain.

With the kind of fitness standards Kohli has maintained and Test cricket being his top priority, he could easily play 60-70 Tests. He can win 32 Tests more out of the estimated calculation that he could play and could set a record for the most number of Test wins as a captain.
