Being in the thick of media attention, Kohli and Anushka have had some tough times together like other celebrity couples. However, what marks them apart is the way they have stood up for each other during those difficult moments.

Following India's loss to Australia in the 2015 ICC World Cup semi-final, Anushka faced plenty of flak for flowing to Australia just days before the match to Australia to be with Kohli.

Kohli has been extremely protective of Anushka and their relationship and infamously hurled expletives at a journalist, albeit with a case of mistaken identity, during the course of the World Cup for writing in an unfair manner about them.

In the early part of 2016, Virat and Anushka had reportedly broken up but the cricketer proved his undying love for Anushka with an Instagram post shaming the critics who had been continuously targetting Anushka, linking her with his on-field performances.

What was remarkable was the way Kohli stood up for Anushka during a troubled time in paradise and earned plenty of praise for his actions.

Being there for each other during good times is a given but backing each other even when times are tough is what counts. No surprise then that the couple were back together soon after and continued their amazing love story that has now been bonded with marriage.
