Before the Champions Trophy, Dinesh Karthik’s last game in India colours came in 2010. However, a superb IPL campaign for the Mumbai Indians in 2013 meant that he was picked in the squad for the event.

Karthik had a superb time with the bat in the warm-up matches, where he smashed two centuries, but could not keep it going in the main competition, scoring a single fifty in the game against the West Indies.

Heading into this Champions Trophy as well, Karthik found himself in good rhythm as far as his batting was concerned, but unlike then could not get a berth in the 15-man squad.
