After Aamir Khan, now Gautam Gambhir on Sourav's show

Gambhir will appear on a celebrity special episode of Dada's KBC

Gautam Gambhir, who is seen as the Sourav Ganguly of the current Indian team, will appear on the Bengali version of the Kaun Banega Crorepati which is being anchored by Bengal’s favorite star Sourav Ganguly. The show, named ‘Ke Hobe Banglar Kotipati’, is being aired on a Bengali channel for last one month and is now the most watched non-fiction show in Bengal.

Sourav himself invited Gautam Gambhir for participating on the show. Gambhir will arrive in Kolkata on July 9 and the episode will be shot. It is notable that Gambhir is the captain of the KKR side which was once led by Sourav Ganguly himslef and KKR later dropped Ganguly unceremoniously from its IPL4 wish list. But it doesn’t seem to have affected the personal equations between ‘Dada’ and Gambhir, who debuted in the international cricket under Sourav Ganguly. On being asked about it, Sourav replied,

So, what if I’m not playing for it(KKR) anymore? It’s very much my team

Gambhir is considered to be very close to Sourav. Not just their batting techniques are similar (both are left handed), both are also known to be aggressive on the field. Gambhir is also among those youngsters handpicked by then skipper Sourav who went one to make the team the world champion. Gambhir will be the first cricketer to appear on the show.

Aamir and Kiran Rao also participated in the show

Before Gambhir, Aamir Khan participated in the show. Aamir Khan along with wife Kiran was quizzed by Sourav on the show a few days ago. The episode featuring Aamir Khan will be aired July 8th (tomorrow) on the occasion of Dada’s 39th birthday. Rumors also suggest that Aamir won one crore on the show even though the bollywood star neither confirmed nor rejected the rumor.

This Sourav’s second quiz show as an anchor and like the previous stint with ‘Dadagiri unlimited’ this new show has also rose up in the popularity charts. In the previous show, Sourav had invited Shahrukh Khan and Yuvraj Singh as celebrity guests.

Ganguly is now busy finishing the shooting of rest of the episodes of KBC as he will join the ESPN-STAR commentary team in England later this month for the India vs England series.
