Shikhar Dhawan - 1

Dhawan had a bad day at work. After being kept out of the Test team for the Australia series, Dhawan had many aspirations to make most of the ODI chance he is getting. But, unfortunately, got out for a golden duck in the first over of the innings.

Rohit Sharma - 9

The standout performer of the match for Team India. Rohit started slow and cautious when the bowlers were really keeping things tight. He settled in well and made up for it eventually with his another classy century. He ended up scoring 133 runs but sadly couldn't turn the match India's way towards the end of the innings. But, Rohit has begun his 2019 cricket season with a bang.

Virat Kohli - 2

Kohli looked at peace when he drove one through the covers in his first over. But, fell to the trap that was set by Finch and co. Apart from his batting, Kohli was brilliant with his bowling changes and field placements. He used Kuldeep Yadav to good effect in the match.

Ambati Rayudu - 2

Rayudu had a disappointing match with both the bat and fielding. He was very poor in his fielding and got out for a duck with the bat. So doesn't deserve more than 2 points.

MS Dhoni - 7

2019 has begun on a positive note for MS Dhoni. He has shown that he still has got the capability to save the team from danger. When India was in huge trouble, Dhoni alongside Rohit played well to get India closer to the target. Dhoni scored a half-century to get his confidence going after a poor form in 2018.

Dinesh Karthik - 3

Karthik came at a time when India had the chase in control and with Rohit well set at the other end. He had to just support Rohit and put the bad balls away. But, in order to change the gears, he got out to Richardson and crashed India's chances of a good chase.

Ravindra Jadeja - 4

Jadeja bowled well in his quota of 10 overs and controlled the Australian innings from one end. Got the important wicket of Khawaja who was looking good. His batting was not up to the mark as he is in the team as an allrounder. He ended up with figures of 10-0-48-1

Kuldeep Yadav - 5

Kuldeep did well with the ball in hand to get two important wickets of Alex Carey and Shaun Marsh. Marsh was really looking dangerous after his half-century mark. But, re-introduction of Kuldeep ended the stay of Marsh. India was able to keep Australia in check in the middle overs with the efforts of Kuldeep. He ended with 10-0-54-2

Bhuvneshwar Kumar - 6

Although Bhuvi was ordinary with the ball, he did well with the bat when India was chasing towards the end. He looked a bit rusty with the ball and gave away too many runs at the death overs. But, his batting has assured the captain of promoting Bhuvi in the order. He is developing into a good batsman along with his bowling skills.

Mohammad Shami - 3

Shami had all the opportunity to make it count with the ball. He failed to get wickets during middle overs and he ended the match with figures of 10-0-46-1.

Khaleel Ahmed - 2

After the initial burst of Khaleel Ahmed in the Indian cricket during Asia Cup, he has set expectations little higher. But today's performance was disappointing as far as Khaleel is concerned. He couldn't get a single wicket in his eight over spell and gave away runs at seven runs per over.
