Bowling spearhead Ishant Sharma was handed his maiden Test cap when he was just 18 years old in a match against Bangladesh at Dhaka on May 25, 2007. Though his debut didn't go well as took a solitary wicket but went on to constantly trouble Ricky Ponting in the tour Down Under that followed soon.

He has gone on to become the leader of the pace bowling attack and has 256 Test wickets to his name till date.


#3 Harbhajan Singh (17 years)

The Turbanator Harbhajan Singh made his Test debut at Hyderabad against Australia where he took just two wickets and India lost that match in 1998. He was just 17 years old at that time but kept the disappointment of his maiden outing aside as he went on to become one of the best Indian bowlers and best spinners in the world of all time in a Test career of 103 matches.


#4 Ravi Shastri (18 years)

The current Indian head coach was handed his Test cap in 1981 when he was just 18 years and 270 days at that time. His debut took place at Wellington where he took six wickets.

He went on to become a decent all-rounder of his time in a career of 80 matches where he amassed 3,830 runs and picked 151 wickets.
