Dubai - Australia’s Renee Chappell replaced Jess Jonassen for the ICC Women’s World Cup to be held in India from Jan 31 to Feb 17.

The event technical committee approved the change on Monday. The confirmation was conveyed to Cricket Australia (CA) on behalf of the committee.

Jonassen has not recovered sufficiently from a recent knee surgery and is unable to compete in the event.

Chappell is 29 years old and currently uncapped for Australia. She is a right-handed batter and right-arm off-spin bowler from Perth and replaces Jonassen, who is a left-handed batter and left-arm spinner.
