A collection of cricket cartoons by Satish Acharya - 'Non-Striker'
We all witness the funny side of cricket through cartoons, largely being circulated over the social media, websites and in many other magazines and newspapers. Most of them created by Ace cartoonist, caricaturist and illustrator Satish Acharya, provide the lighter side of the news and a whimsical look at the game.
For the cricket fans, the funny side of cricket has become a part and parcel along with the on-field game and off-field news and controversies. Spare no one – the famed cricketers, officials, umpires, administrators, and anyone, in what ever manner linked to the game, gets lampooned, caricatured and satirized in a simple yet sarcastic way taking the pun intended with generous humour and satirical pictures. In these trying processes, Satish shows up with a vigilant effort through his cartoons to make sure his audience laugh at cricket and the silliness of it all.
In the same spirit, compiling all his works of clever wit and creativity over the years. Satish unveils an unusual collection of his cricket cartoons bringing them together in a book, titled “Non-Striker”, much to the delight of the cricket fans.
The book features a collection of some of most popular cartoons which we are very familiar by just looking at the face of it and is a perfect gift to a cricket fan just before the beginning of a World Cup. It is pertinent to reminiscent those popular cartoons which evoked laughter and smile and cartoons that were widely followed by cricketing fans all over the world.
