Cricket batting techniques

Today, it's very important to realize that we need to be technically equipped to be a good cricketer. A lot of people think that they need to be a good hitter to become a good batsman but what they fail to realize is that emphasis needs to be given on developing the basics of batting and primarily make the cricketer technically sound before we get on to the more aggressive strokes or formats of the game.

How do we achieve this?

We need to start from the basics which include the grip of the bat and the stance. In the stance, we need to be properly, side-on aligned with a comfortable distance between both the legs.

Rope ball drills are an essential and interesting way of improving the basic skill sets of young cricketers.

The main aim of the rope ball is to develop good left-hand domination for a right-handed batsman. It also allows you to be able to play the ball straight and control the ball to allow the cricketer to play with soft hands. Many youngsters keep playing the ball around which is not how it is supposed to be played. There are many more drills to help improve the basic skill sets of youngsters which I will shortly be writing and also showcasing for the improvement of technical skill sets.
