Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh Test series that was initially supposed to take place in October and November 2020 will now be played in April and May 2021. It will be the last Test series for both teams in the ongoing World Test Championship 2019-2021.
The Bangladesh Test side will travel to the island nation for a two-Test series in April 2021 and return back home in May. Under their new captain Mominul Haque, the visitors are desperate to get some positive results in their bag and thus have stated that they will not be experimenting in Sri Lanka.
The first-ever Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was played two decades ago, in 2001. Sri Lanka Cricket Team won that Test and commenced a wonderful journey in Tests against their Asian neighbours.
In overall SL v BAN Tests, Bangladesh Cricket Team has won just one out of 20 matches, losing 16. The only Test that they won, was interestingly played in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will play two Tests against the home side at the Palleke International Stadium in Pallekele. The first Test will begin on April 21. The fifth day is therefore April 25, following which, there will be a three-day break.
The second Test will begin on April 29 and can go on up to May 3. Both the Test matches will begin at 4:30 AM GMT/10:00 AM IST.
