#3 England - Jofra Archer

He plays for Sussex in first-class and has been a good prospect for the team overall. He has taken 131 wickets at an average of 23.44 and has scored over 1000 runs down the order. Besides, he is an excellent fielder. All of these helped find a spot in the 2018 Indian Premier League.

Jofra Archer justified his talent taking three wickets in his debut match. Even in this season he is leading the wickets chart for Rajasthan. It was unfortunate that he was left out of the 15 men squad. A positive note is that he is part of the squad that plays against Pakistan and Ireland.

This means he has an outside chance to get into the team. The series against Pakistan will be his international debut series. He is expected to give his best to get selected for the World Cup squad.

#4 Sri Lanka – Dinesh Chandimal

Dinesh Chandimal

Dinesh Chandimal was a technically sound middle order batsman with 3599 runs in 146 ODIs. He also kept wickets well. He was also the youngest ODI captain for Sri Lanka, when he led the squad against South Africa in 2013.

From his debut in 2010 until his recent appearance he has been instrumental in team’s success because of the amount of talent and potential he possesses. Everything was going well until 2016 for Chandimal. Post 2016, he has only managed 566 runs in 24 innings at an abysmal average of 24.6.

He was someone who stood against the tide whenever the team was in trouble in the past. But his inconsistency has played a vital role for his omission from the squad. Interestingly, he was the captain for the home series against England in 2018 and did reasonably well with the bat too.
