Jadeja has a good record against the Australian team

Ravindra Jadeja had missed the majority of the Test series in England and had to sit out of the playing XI to accommodate Hardik Pandya. Considering Hardik's contribution in the series both with the bat and ball it was a disappointing effort. In contrast, Jadeja looked in great touch in all the three departments.

In the fifth Test, Jadeja took four wickets in the first innings and three in the second. With the bat, he scored an unbeaten 86 and looked in sublime touch. His all-around performance in the only Test he played was one of the biggest positives of the series.

Jadeja's improved performance is a good sign for the Indian team especially considering the overseas conditions. Also, he will be an ideal replacement for Hardik and will likely feature in the playing XI along with Ashwin in all the matches. He will be more than handy in Adeiadle and Sydney where it favours the spin bowling more.
