The 18-year-old bowling all-rounder from Tamil Nadu has become the youngest player to debut for India in T20Is. Like Ravichandran Ashwin, Washington Sundar went from being a batsman as a youngster to making his name as an off-spinner. He was also part of the Indian under-19 World Cup team in 2016.
Originally unsold during the 2017 IPL auctions, he was recruited as an injury replacement to Ravichandran Ashwin and played a big role with his accurate off-breaks, paving the way for his team to be in its first-ever IPL final.
In the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, he was the most economical bowler. Sunder could play the role, which Ashwin played for Indian team over the last few years and he is capable of playing some good knock with the bat as well.
First-class career: Matches- 12, Runs-592, Wickets-30
