Sri Lankan cricketers wearing masks after lunch on day two at Delhi
The ongoing third Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi was interrupted for about 15 minutes on the second day due to the presence of smog. Many of the Sri Lankan cricketers including their skipper Dinesh Chandimal wore masks on the cricket field after lunch on the second day to counter the pollution.
Sri Lankan bowler Lahiru Gamage began coughing while bowling which led to the Sri Lankan skipper Chandimal lodging a complaint with the on-field umpires i.e. Nigel Llong from England and Joel Wilson from West Indies. The game had to be stopped for 15 minutes after which, on the insistence of the umpires and the Indian players, the match resumed.
