GL vs SRH Match Prediction: Who will win today's battle between Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2016, Match 15

Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on the might of the Gujarat Lions at the Lions' den, Rajkot. Gujarat Lions have looked invincible so far in this tournament and they start as overwhelming favourites for this clash.

The Sunrisers have been over-dependent on their skipper, David Warner, as far as their batting is concerned. Their bowling was good in the last game against Mumbai and that win against the defending champions would have surely lifted the spirits of the Sunrisers.

The Lions though have recorded a hat-trick of wins in this IPL 2016 with a cent percent win record. Suresh Raina has marshalled his troops brilliantly and his players have responded to their skipper's call in a very comprehensive manner.

The Saurashtra Cricket Association wicket should be a good one to bat on. In the last game at the SCA, we saw a bit of grass on the wicket for holding it together. The team winning the toss might opt to field since that has been the norm in this tournament.

If Sunrisers Hyderabad bats first

It should be fun watching the in-form Warner smacking the ball around. A very out-of-form Dhawan will be there to give him company, his struggles seem to be going on forever, but optimistically he gets to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the Rajkot wicket.

The team management would hope that the other players can take some pressure off Warner. They wouldn't really want this team to turn into a one-man army. Henriques, Ojha, and Hooda have to contribute in the middle. Morgan, who has rediscovered his touch would love to finish the innings with a bang.

The bowling gets better for Hyderabad when the pitch gets sluggish. They have a couple of slowish medium pacers in Henriques and Ashish Reddy. The left-arm spinner Bipul Sharma would love to keep the run rate of the opposition in check in the middle overs.

But the men to watch out for are the men from the pace department. There is this young genius Mustafizur Rahman who slowly and steadily is gaining a lot of reputation in the cricketing circle for his outstanding cutters.

Barinder Sran who was outstanding in the last game would love to continue from where he left off on Monday. He is a brisk left-arm seamer who gets the ball into the right-handers early on. The two left-armers along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar have to pick bulk of the wickets if they want to upset the applecart of the Lions.

It will very interesting to see if Aaron Finch will be available for tonight’s game after he picked up a hamstring injury in the last game. He has been the man in form, picking up a hat-trick of Man of the match awards in Gujarat’s hat-trick of wins!

If Finch is unfit, Dwayne Smith might get a look-in. The destructive McCullum though will continue to open from the other end. The top-heavy Gujarat will have their skipper Raina at no. 3. The top three would love to get at least 80 runs between them.

Dinesh Karthik will come in at 4 followed by the troika of allrounders Jadeja, Faulker and Bravo. The just-married Jadeja will be back for this game and should replace Akshadeep Nath.

The same trio should play a vital role with the ball along with Praveen Kumar, Shadab Jakati and Pravin Tambe for company. Jadeja, the local boy could play the wrecker-in-chief if he gets his faster ones to turn a shade. Tambe and Jakati can play a crucial supporting role too.

DJ Bravo would want to choke the opposition with his frequent changes in pace. The balance looks outstanding for the Lions with players of the caliber of Dale Steyn still warming the reserve bench. Gujarat Lions are surely the team to beat this season!
