Mohammed Shami's journey from the 2015 World Cup to 2019 World Cup has been very inspirational. The last 4 years for the UP-born have been a roller-coaster of emotions.

The lad was exceptional during the 2015 World Cup and was the second highest wicket-taker for India in that tournament. Howbeit, what followed this grand success was a drastic injury. The 28-year had to take a long break owing to injury and was eventually dropped from the white-ball setup.

After the 2015 World Cup, Shami got to play only 5 ODIs in the span of 3 years. But then came the Australian tour of 2019 and the rays of hopes rose again for Mohammed Shami.

India's pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah was rested for a couple of tours and Shami, who was picked in place of Bumrah, grabbed this opportunity with both his hands.

Ever since then, Bengal-cricketer's performance has been stupendous. A series of good performances in successive tours has resulted in him giving tough competition to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, for the spot of the second pacer in the playing XI.

Shami's selection in the World Cup squad looks very certain now and it won't be surprising if he repeats the same kind of performance as he did in the previous World Cup.
