Indian Cricket Team might wear orange jersey in World Cup 2019

The cricketing fraternity is set to welcome the home and away kit format for the first time with the concept making its foray in the upcoming Cricket World Cup. The advent of the two kits was decided upon by the International Cricket Council to avoid confusions on the field and during broadcast between clashes among countries who have the same colour shade for their home shirts.

The latest development will see seven countries partake in away kits for matches against the home side England and where they have been classified as the away side. In a concept that has been prevalent in multiple sports, the world of cricket is set to be enthralled with some intriguing new releases by the participating countries.

And as per the guidelines, the Indian cricket team will be in away colours for 2 matches, on June 22 against Afghanistan where they have been clubbed into the away country category and against June 30 on England. And keeping in mind the need for a second kit, the BCCI along with Nike is slated to release a stupendous blend of blue and orange which will feature heavily in the away jersey.

The away kit for the Asian giants will embed a darker blue front while the sleeves, shoulders and back will be bright orange. While the kit is yet to be released, the visuals doing the rounds make for a rousing spectacle with stupendous designs, hues and patterns being intertwined to create a delectable shirt.

Alongside India, even South Africa and Sri Lanka have reverted from the type in their away kits design. South Africa have affirmed that they’ll be using yellow away kits when required while Afghanistan and Bangladesh have released red-coloured editions. Out of the current countries, only Pakistan are yet to release an away version but it is been speculated that they could decide not to, given their status as home country for all their 9 scheduled encounters.

West Indies (maroon), New Zealand (black), and Australia (canary yellow) all have indulged in distinct colours for their home kits which does away with the need to adorn away colours. In addition, home country England also don’t need to have an away kit and will wear their 1992 World Cup-inspired blue shirts for all their encounters.

Barring their matches against England and Afghanistan, India will be in their traditional home jersey which sees the royal blue color be the mainstay of the shirts. The collar has the flag embedded into it while details of India’s three World Cup triumphs are also etched into the shirts.
