India vs Afghanistan: Why Afghanistan spinners performed below expectations

Rashid Khan was supposed to be the man to watch out for in the test match. Unfortunately, he failed to show his talent in this match. From ball one, Dhawan dominated him and didn't allow him to settle.

Further, he couldn't grip the SG ball perfectly and hence ended up giving full tosses and loose deliveries outside the off-stump for Shikhar Dhawan to put away. Rashid Khan was clearly unable to replicate his form in the IPL into this test match.

Having taken 2 wickets and giving away 154 runs at an economy rate of 4.4, Rashid Khan's performance was below par which was least expected from a bowler of his calibre.

He will be expected to come back stronger and not repeat the same mistakes in the next series against Ireland in August.
