#2 Temba Bavuma

The 29-year-old Temba Bavuma bats at No: 5 in Tests, and he is a batsman with solid defence and technique. That said, his stats don't exactly justify his talent.

Having made his Test debut in December 2014 against West Indies, Temba averages just 33 from 36 matches, with one century and 13 fifties to his name.

Bavuma made his T20I debut in the recently concluded series against India in which he scored 49 and 27. South Africa would expect him to continue his form in the upcoming Test series as well.

#1 Vernon Philander

The 34-year-old Vernon Philander is undoubtedly one of the best Test bowlers in the modern era. He is the second fastest to take 50 wickets in Test cricket, having got there in just seven matches. Philander has picked 214 wickets from 58 Tests overall at an average of 21.64.

What makes Philander particularly dangerous is his ability to swing the ball both ways. He is also known for maintaining a good line and length.

It will be interesting to see how the Indian batsmen tackle the swinging deliveries of Philander.
