South Africa and India would be facing each other this summer as South Africa will set out to tour India in March 2020.
The tour which is going to be a short one, will cover the One day Internationals format of the game only. The sole series of the tour will consist of three One day International matches. The India versus South Africa 2020 series will begin with the first ODI in Dharamsala which will be played on March 12th, 2020. The second ODI will be played in Lucknow on 15th March. The final ODI match would be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 18th March.
All the IND vs SA matches from the series have been scheduled to be played as day-night matches and will begin at 2:00 pm IST.
The last series which South Africa played against Indian cricket team was in September-October last year in 2019. South Africa toured India in September-October 2019 for a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match Test series.
The T20 series was drawn 1-1 but India comfortably won the Test series 3-0 against South Africa.
The last India vs South Africa encounter was at Ranchi where India won overwhelmingly by an innings and 202 runs.
Before coming to India, South Africa cricket team would be playing Australia for a three-match ODI and a three-match T20I, both of which are a home series for South Africa. While India would be coming back home for the ODI series from a long tour of New Zealand.
After their short tour of India, many South African cricketers will stay back for the IPL which will follow the series after almost a week.
