Hanuma Vihari is a technically sound batsman and has the ability to play the ball late in order to read its movement with perfection. He displayed this technique in the last Test match against England when he scored a wonderful 56 in the first innings. Being patient on the crease is probably the best weapon in his armoury.

His domestic performance for his team Andhra Pradesh too has been quite satisfactory. Vihari has scored 5198 runs in 64 first-class matches at an impressive average of 59.06. He has also scored a triple century against Odisha in Ranji Trophy.

The above stats clearly indicate that the selectors should show no hesitation in selecting Vihari again.
