The Indian Premier League will finish on 29 May 2016. That will not be the end of the cricketing action for all the Indian cricket fans. Team India has an eventful 2016 ahead. Feast yourself for some form of cricketing action in almost every month of this year. India toured Australia in January and found success in the T20 series down under. Indian cricket team did not find much success in the ODI series, though. Later, India hosted Sri Lanka. India won this series as well.
India climbed to the second spot in the test rankings. India is at number two in the T20 rankings as well. After that disappointing ODI series against Australia, India managed the fourth spot in ODIs. India is set to leave the home soil and tour the west in the coming months. India will be busy hosting three teams in the latter half of 2016.
India will tour Zimbabwe in June-July to play three ODIs and three T20Is. Originally, the tour was to have a test match as well. Afterwards, the sole Test match was dropped in favour of three T20Is. Previously, India toured Zimbabwe in 2015 and had a successful campaign.

Following the Zimbabwe tour, team India will move further west to play West Indies. West Indies will host India for four Tests in July-August. No ODIs and T20s, though. These two teams faced-off each other during WT20. Before that, West Indies played India in 2014. Sad that this tour came to an abrupt halt. Previously, West Indies toured India in 2013. Team India claimed victory in this tour.
Trivia: Sachin Tendulkar played his last cricket match during West Indies’ tour of India in 2013.
Bangladesh will tour India for a sole test match. The month of August is the most likely time for this series. That dates have not yet been finalised. There are reports for an ODI series as well. We will have to wait and watch on how this tour develops.
New Zealand is all set to tour India in October. This tour will have three Tests and five One-Day Internationals. This series should be interesting for New Zealand ranks higher than team India in ODIs. However, India is ahead of New Zealand in the Tests. Recently, India faced New Zealand in the WT20. India toured New Zealand in 2014. New Zealand won that tour comprehensively. Furthermore, New Zealand toured India in 2012. In this tour, India won the Test series but lost the T20I series by just one run.
To finish the year, England will tour India during November-December 2016. This tour will have five Test matches. Like India, England has a busy year ahead as well. England will play India after a tour of Bangladesh in October 2016. Last time these two teams met in a series was in 2014. India toured England during July-September 2014. India lost the Test series and the sole T20I. However, India won the ODI series against England. Last time England toured India was in 2012-2013. India lost the Test series to England again and won the ODI series yet again. India will look to improve its Test form against England.
