What's the story?
Celebrity Football is back. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli's All Hearts FC will take on All Stars FC, a team comprising of all the big names in Bollywood led by Ranbir Kapoor, in a friendly Football match at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai on October 15.
This game of Football is for the charity and Kohli himself, along with Abhishek Bachchan are behind this great initiative. The event was shared on the Facebook page of Kohli and the Indian skipper himself revealed that MS Dhoni is already planning the tactics for this game.
"Dhoni bhai is very excited about the match. He is already planning and preparing tactics because we are not used to of playing football in big fields," Kohli said.
In case you didn't know...
A similar match was played last year between both these teams and that included the likes of Mayank Dagar (goalkeeper), Manoj Tiwary, MS Dhoni, Manish Pandey, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ashok Dinda, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, R Ashwin playing for Kohli's team while the other side included Jignesh Antala (goalie), Aditya Kapoor, Shabir Ahluwalia, Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea, Shoojit Sircar, Kartik Aryan, Sachin Joshi, Arjun Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Raj Kundra.
Last year's match ended in a 2-2 draw with Yuvraj Singh and KL Rahul scoring for Virat Kohli's team. Unlike last year when Abhishek Bachchan led the All-Stars side before moving to the touchline from where he was giving inputs to his players, Ranbir will lead the Bollywood team this year.
The money that is earned from this match will go to the charity run by Kohli and Bachchan.
It is good to see the cricketers and the Bollywood actors unite for a good cause. If they manage to do this on a regular basis, it will be good for the society and the respective charities.Published 10 Oct 2017, 16:49 IST
