The India cricket team went on a cruise ride along Sydney harbour followed by dinner hosted by the Indian High Commissioner.
Mr. Biren Nanda, Indian High Commissioner, who hosted the cruise ride along the harbour on a ‘Showboat’, addressed the gathered contingent and welcomed the team. He praised the Indian team for the fight they showed in the three Tests so far and wished them luck for the upcoming ODI series including the ICC World Cup 2015.
Captain Virat Kohli was very delighted and stated, “We are delighted to be on this cruise. It is very different from the usual High Commission functions.”
Indian team has shown commendable character: Kohli
Speaking about the team’s performance in the tests he said “I stand here very proud of the way we have played so far in the series and the character the team has shown,” he said. “All three Tests could have gone either way. I hope we continue to play like this in the future as well.”
The touring team will take on Australia in the fourth and final test at the SCG this Tuesday with Australia taking 2-0 lead.
The ship docked after the players socialized, signed autographs, and posed for photographs. A 90 minute of delightful ride indeed as Anushka Sharma joined Virat in the Darling Harbour cruise.
