Guangzhou (China) - The Indian women’s won the Twenty20 Asia Cup cricket, beating Pakistan by 18 runs in the final here on Wednesday.

Poonam Raut scored a gritty 25 off 28 balls to take India to a modest score of 81 (all out) in 20 overs.

Harmanpreet Kaur (20) and Reema Malhotra (18) were the only other players to reach double digits.

Spinner Sana Mir was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, taking four wickets for 13 runs. The Indians had a torrid time picking her leg spinners.

In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 63 in 19.1 overs.

The Indian bowlers did a fantastic job of restricting the Pakistanis. Archana Das and Nagarajan Niranjana took two wickets each. Shubhalaxmi Sharma, Ekta Bisht, Anuja Patil and Reema Malhotra too recorded their names under the wickets column.

The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) congratulated the Indian players and support staff after the win.
