Sarfaraz Khan is gradually capturing the attention of cricket lovers in India with his uninhibited batting style and audacious stroke-play. Even though there is an opportunity to promote him up the order, the team management of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) believe that the 18-year old is best suited to play the finisher role.

NDTV Sports reported RCB batsman Kedhar Jadhav speaking about the supremely gifted youngster and Samuel Badree’s absence. Jadhav who is also donning the gloves for his new franchise felt that the batting lineup is pretty much settled.

He affirmed, “I don't see any changes in the batting line-up because everyone is doing well at their respective positions. So, if Sarfaraz is doing well at number five, he should stick to that, and that is what he can do best for the team.”

Admitting the impact of Badree’s injury on the bowling attack, Jadhav revealed, “I don't have any idea when Badree is going to return, but regarding Yuzi, he has been doing well or RCB over the years and he is a quality bowler in domestic cricket. Yes, you are right, he is one of the main spinners we have currently. But, the moment Badree will be here, his presence will only strengthen our bowling.”

He also opened up on the hectic schedule of the IPL with a measured reply. The right-hander asserted, “Travel concern is part and parcel of the professional cricketers' lives. We all are used to this. Sometimes, I feel it is good to be traveling. You get to spend more time with your team-mates. You get to know about them, and getting to know each other is a hallmark of a really good side.”

Brushing aside concerns surrounding the inability of the RCB bowlers to stem the flow of runs, the Pune-born cricketer claimed, “I guess it is a high scoring ground, so you cannot blame bowlers for it. The deck here is completely batting paradise and has small boundary. So, as a batsman you have to put enough runs on the board to back our bowlers.”

Jadhav has represented India in 4 ODIs and 2 T20Is with a century against Zimbabwe at Harare.
