Former New Zealand all-rounder James Franklin showed some amazing athleticism, and with the help of Colin de Grandhomme got rid of Nathan McCullum in the State of Origin North Island vs South Island T20 match.
On the first delivery of the 12th over, the younger McCullum lofted the ball high in the air towards long off and the ball looked like it was destined to go for a six. But Franklin had other ideas, as he leaped in the air and got hold of the ball after it had gone past him.
The 33-year-old’s momentum took him over the fence, but he had the presence of mind to toss the ball back into play with the back of his hand. His teammate de Grandhomme was on hand to finish off the catch.
Despite Franklin and de Grandhomme’s efforts though, their team North Island lost the match by 15 runs.
