Dubai, June 22 (IANS/CMC): New Zealand’s Kane Williamson has been reported for bowling with a suspected illegal bowling action, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed.

The part-time off-spinner was reported after the end of the second Test against West Indies at Queen's Park Oval by umpires Ian Gould, Richard Illingworth and Rod Tucker, along with match referee Chris Broad, CMC reports.

In a report handed over to the New Zealand team manager on Friday, the umpires raised concern over a number of deliveries bowled in the match by the off-spinner.

Under ICC stipulations, Williamson's action will now have to be tested within 21 days. However, he will be allowed to continue bowling until the results of the tests are known.

Williamson sent down 14 overs during the second Test, taking one wicket. The 23-year-old, who is one of the most promising, technically sound batsman in world cricket right now, has 2173 runs in 33 Tests and 1699 runs in 54 ODIs at 37.46 and 39.51 respectively.

Quite adept at sending down a few overs, he has a total of 47 scalps in both the formats of the game.
