Update on Prithvi Shaw's injury

Shaw is inching closer to making his comeback
Shaw is inching closer to making his comeback

Although it didn't end up having a big impact on the game, India would have dearly loved to have Prithvi Shaw in the line-up for the first Test against Australia at Adelaide. However, the youngster, who was ruled out of the first Test after suffering an ankle injury while fielding in India's tour game on November 29 is slowly making his way back to full fitness.

Shaw was seen with a protective brace around his ankle ahead of the toss before the first Test. The 19-year-old was heavily strapped and was seen limping around the Adelaide Oval last week but on Monday, he was spotted jogging around the sidelines while still being heavily strapped.

With just three days between the first and the second Test, it seems unlikely that the nasty ligament injury that sidelined him from the first Test would be fully healed. However, a return to the side for the Boxing Day Test isn't out of the question.
