#4 BCCI announce a 3-name shortlist for head coach of Indian women's team

The BCCI shortlisted 3 names from a long list of 28 for the position of the head coach of the Indian women's cricket team. The 3 names were Gary Kirsten, Herschelle Gibbs, and Ramesh Powar.
Powar's contract was not extended by the BCCI after the controversies at the World T20. However, he chose to re-apply for the position. Kirsten was the World Cup-winning coach with the men's side in 2011 and Gibbs does not have much coaching experience.
The 3 players will be interviewed by the ad-hoc committee before a final decision is made.
"The ad-hoc panel comprises former players of high repute. I have no doubt that the committee will pick the best one," a BCCI official told PTI.
