MS Dhoni lends a helping hand for the treatment of former Jharkhand cricketer Santosh Lal
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has come forward to help his childhood friend and former Jharkhand cricketer Santhosh Lal, who has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
A close friend of Dhoni said: “Former Ranji cricketer Santosh Lal was taken to Delhi by air ambulance and admitted to a hospital there.
“Besides Dhoni, all his friends have come forward in helping him fight his disease. Dhoni is in touch and helping in making all necessary arrangements for the treatment.”
It is learnt that the Jharkhand State Cricket Association has donated rupees one lakh to Lal for his treatment. Also the association members have handed over rupees 39,500 to his family.
Chanchal Bhattacharya, Dhoni’s coach in his early days, said: “Lal has played Ranji Trophy with Dhoni.”
Dhoni, who is out on a US tour, had credited his helicopter shot to Lal.
