Most successful test captain and most number of losses incurred
Arguably one of the greatest ever limited-overs captain to have played the game, Dhoni holds a mixed record while captaining the side in Tests. He led the side to a Test mace in 2009 after a successful year which culminated with defeating Sri Lanka.
His success in home Tests was superb and he was statistically the best Test captain for India. However, his success overseas was extremely poor. Despite being the most successful Test captain of India, he holds the record of the most losses incurred outside India.
