Australia took on the Netherlands in the 24th game of the 2023 World Cup on Wednesday, October 25, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Australia won the toss and elected to bat.

The Aussies lost their first wicket in the fourth over in the form of Mitchell Marsh (9 runs off 15 balls). Steven Smith joined David Warner in the middle and added 132 runs for the second wicket. Smith finally found his form in this year's tournament, scoring 71 runs off 68 deliveries.

Warner scored his second consecutive century of the tournament and was dismissed after scoring 104 runs off 93 deliveries. Marnus Labuschagne also did well with the bat for Australia and scored 62 runs off 47 deliveries.

'Big Show' Glenn Maxwell was the highlight of the Australian innings, with a knock of 106 runs off 44 deliveries, including nine fours and eight sixes. He recorded the fastest-ever ODI World Cup century off just 40 balls. Australia scored 399 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs.

Logan van Beek was the pick of the bowlers, with four wickets for 74 runs in 10 overs. Bas de Leede picked two, while Aryan Dutt took one wicket.

The Netherlands were bundled out for just 90 runs and lost the match by 309 runs - the biggest margin of defeat (by runs) in ODI World Cup history. Only Vikramjit Singh, who made 25 runs at a strike rate of 100, crossed the 20-run mark for the team.

Adam Zampa picked up another four-wicket haul and gave away just eight runs in three overs. Mitchell Marsh took two wickets, while the pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins picked one wicket each.
