CSK seamer nabs four wickets across four overs in England Lions vs India A 2nd Unofficial Test 2025 [Watch]

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) seamer Khaleel Ahmed picked up four wickets across four overs in the second Unofficial Test between England Lions and India A. The game is being played in Northampton.

On the Day 3, Khaleel Ahmed returned with figures of 4/70 from 19 overs during England Lions' first innings. He first dismissed Jordan Cox, who was batting on 45 before getting the better of their skipper James Rew for 10. He returned to bowl George Hill out with a brilliant yorker before dismissing Chris Woakes for his fourth wicket.

Khaleel Ahmed displayed fine form with the ball in the recently concluded IPL 2025 season for CSK as well. The left-arm seamer grabbed 15 wickets and ended as their second highest wicket-taker at an average of 29.80 and an economy rate of 9.57.

However, he left-arm seamer is not in India's senior squad for the series against England. They are set to play five Tests in England starting June 20.

India A led by 184 runs heading into Day 4

At the end of the third day's play of the second Unofficial Test between England Lions and India A, the visitors are in a healthy position with a lead of 184 runs. Batting first, they posted a total of 348 runs in the first innings, led by a brilliant century from KL Rahul.

Riding on a four-wicket haul from Khaleel and two wickets apiece from Anshul Kamboj and Tushar Deshpande, they bowled England Lions out for 327, taking a crucial 21-run lead in the first innings.

In the second innings, India A got to 163/4 before the close of play on Day 3. KL Rahul scored a half-century, getting 51 runs, while skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran played an important knock of 80. Dhruv Jurel (6*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (1*) remained unbeaten and will resume the innings on Day 4. This is the final game of the two-match Unofficial Test series.

Beginning Friday, June 13, the senior team is also scheduled to play a warm-up match with the India A side ahead of the five-Test series.
