Delhi Capitals batter smashes four consecutive sixes in SFU vs LAKR MLC 2025 match [Watch]

Australia and Delhi Capitals batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, who is currently playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket (MLC), showcased his power-hitting skills in the match against the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) in Oakland. The right-hander hit four consecutive sixes in an over during a swashbuckling innings.

This moment occurred during the fifth over, bowled by Shadley van Schalkwyk. Although the first two deliveries yielded only one run while Finn Allen was at the crease, Fraser-McGurk took the right-arm pacer to task with the remaining four balls. The first two deliveries faced by the Aussie batter sailed over long leg and long-on for maximums, respectively. The fourth and fifth balls of the over went toward the sweeper cover and mid-wicket regions, respectively, as van Schalkwyk leaked 25 runs.

Fraser-McGurk hammered 88 off only 38 deliveries against the Knight Riders, including two fours and an impressive 11 sixes, helping the Unicorns amass 219 in their 20 overs. Although Unmukt Chand scored a thrilling fifty for the Knight Riders, they were bowled out for 187 in 19.5 overs. Xavier Bartlett and Haris Rauf each took four wickets for the Unicorns.

Nevertheless, the young Australian batter struggled for the Capitals in IPL 2025 after being retained by the franchise. The Capitals kept the right-hander following his impressive performance in the 2024 edition, where he achieved a strike rate of 234.04 in nine matches, compiling 330 runs at an average of 36.66.

However, Fraser-McGurk managed only 55 runs in six matches at an average of 9.16, along with a disappointing strike rate of 105.76. With the Capitals failing to reach the playoffs yet again, they are unlikely to retain the youngster ahead of the next edition. He has also been dropped from the T20I squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies due to his poor performance at the international level.
