Indian women's allrounder Deepti Sharma's fielding brilliance left West Indies batter Chedean Nation stunned in today's 2022 ICC Women's World Cup clash in Hamilton.

In the 37th over during the chase, an alert Deepti Sharma observed a casual stroll of Chedean Nation while the latter was running the second run. Sharma then effected a clever relay runout with the assistance of Meghna Singh to send the West Indies batter packing to the pavilion.

You can watch the video below:

Deepti Sharma scored 15 runs with the bat and then bowled an economical spell of 7-2-24-0 during the second innings.

India managed to win the match comprehensively in the end by a margin of 155 runs. Courtesy of the win, they have boosted their net run rate following a disappointing loss against New Zealand in their previous game.

"I think we both contributed to the score to get over 300, both deserve it"- Smriti Mandhana after sharing POM award with Harmanpreet Kaur

Following India's emphatic victory, Smriti Mandhana(123) shared her player of the match award with teammate Harmanpreet Kaur(109), who also scored a fabulous century. The 25-year old then justified the reason behind her gesture by stating that Kaur's knock was as pivotal to the team's cause as her knock.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Smriti Mandhana said:

Well I think, scoring a century and not being the player of the match is not something that anybody wants. I think we both contributed to the score to get it over 300 and it's good to share the trophy, both deserve it. I think as a batter, we prefer both (setting up a target and chasing), toss is not going to go your way and you won't get what you want.

The southpaw then gave everyone an insight into the game plans she and Harmanpreet Kaur devised during their brilliant partnership. In this regard, Mandhana said:

Our strengths are really different, Kaur is very good with the spin and I like pace on the ball, we know that and when the spinner was coming on to bowl, I used to give the strike back to Harman and she did the same when there was a pacer coming on. I'm sure ICC will be giving another trophy and they have enough budget to do that (has a huge smile on her face).

India will now square off against England in their next match on March 16 at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
