Team India are taking on Pakistan in the marquee clash of the 2023 ODI World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14. Both teams will look to carry on the momentum gained from their two wins in the tournament so far.

India began their World Cup campaign with a six-wicket win over Australia in Chennai. Their spinners strangled Australia and held them to under 200. In reply, India recovered from 2/3 courtesy of fantastic knocks from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Impressive efforts from Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma led India's eight-wicket rout of Afghanistan in Delhi.

Pakistan began their journey in the competition with an 81-run win over the Netherlands. They then broke the record for the highest successful chase in the ODI World Cup, hunting down 345 in Hyderabad.

India have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rohit Sharma said at the toss:

“No particular reason. It looks like a good track, won’t change much. Dew could be a big factor and keeping that in mind, we want to bowl first.”

Rohit confirmed that Shubman Gill is back in the playing XI. He replaces Ishan Kishan. Pakistan are going in with an unchanged team.
